May 20th event

We had a nice turn out for the May 20th event! People from the community, the A.L. Brown B.E.T.A club, and the West Cabarrus B.E.T.A. club came out to pick up litter. We found a total of four grocery carts, many signs, and a working bike (that we donated). We also gathered about ten bags of littler.

Our last event of the summer will be June 3rd and our adopted Street, West 8th. Elk will take July and August off but be back at it in September.

Our scheduled road, Concord Lake, was cleaned by the NCDOT. They did a great job as it was a mess. As a result we are moving our April 15th group litter pick up event to Charity Baptist Church at 2420

The NCDOT Spring litter sweep will be April 15th through the 29th. The spring and fall litter sweeps are great ways to get involved without much of a commitment. If you are interested check out NCDO
