Daota was ELK's first scholarship recipient.

Dakota recently graduated from Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School with an impressive 4.6 weighted GPA. During her time there, she served on the school’s National Honor Society’s board, was an active member of the Beta Club, and competed at the FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference.

This fall, Dakota will attend UNC Greensboro, where she plans to major in finance and pursue a career as a financial advisor. Her goal is to help families navigate the financial challenges of higher education.

Dakota has volunteered with ELK for the past several years as a dependable participant. However, this past year she went above and beyond by becoming ELK’s first ever Media Specialist.

In this role, Dakota photographed ELK events, managed and updated ELK’s Facebook page, promoted upcoming volunteer opportunities, and helped maintain ELK’s website.

We are thankful for her service, her commitment to excellence, and that she helped tell ELK’s story and share our mission with the community.
