Arthur Ewersmann was our final scholarship recipient.

Arthur has been with ELK since nearly the very beginning. Long before anyone knew who we were or what ELK was about, Arthur was there. During a time when volunteer opportunities were limited and gathering people together was challenging due to COVID-19, Arthur faithfully showed up and served.

Over the years, Arthur has volunteered more hours than any other student in our organization’s history. In fact, there were some of our earliest events where the only people in attendance were the ELK founders, Arthur, and his family. Their willingness to support our mission during those formative years played a significant role in helping ELK become what it is today.

Arthur’s commitment to excellence extends far beyond volunteer service. He is currently pursuing both a bachelor's and master's degree at UNC Charlotte, where he has earned a 3.77 GPA and recognition on both the Dean’s list and Chancellor‘s list.

Outside of the classroom, he participates in the UNC Charlotte 49th Security Division and the CCI Startup Hackathon on Campus. Arthur also serves our local community as a concessions attendant for the city of Kannapolis’ Parks and Recreation Department and as a ticket taker at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

More important than his accomplishments, however, is his character. Arthur is dependable, hard-working, humble, and consistently willing to help wherever needed. He represents the very best of what ELK hopes to encourage in young people through service to others.
