Gavin Murfitt

Gavin was our first honorable mention recipient. Gavin recently graduated summa cum laude and leads behind an impressive record of academic achievement and leadership. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Student Council. He also served a Senior Vice President and was an active member of the Kannapolis Youth Council. This fall, Gavin will attend Wingate University where he plans to pursue a degree in chemistry. 

Gavin began volunteering with ELK three years ago and during that time we have had the privilege of watching him grow both as a student and as a leader. When he first joined us, he was one of many young volunteers, looking for a way to serve. Over the years however, he has matured into someone who not only volunteers consistently himself, but also encourages others to get involved to make a difference. We are grateful for Gavin’s service, leadership and commitment to our community.
